Reasons for this:1. Visual Model Exported using FSX SDK.2. Textures are 2048x2048 pixels in size and will using bump mapping and specular maps.3. Animations will all be FSX-based.4. Dynamics will be FSX-based.5. More freeware developers have crossed over to FSX.6. Scenery in FSX is more suited for ground vehicles than FS2004.7. We got enough car addons for FS2004 as it is.Jessy CorralesFSGV Founder
Now that the overall base model is complete, I'm moving on to setting up the base textures. I have decided to eliminate the meshsmooth modifier as the polygon count grew too high for the FSX exporter to compile. Besides, low polygon models are easy to work with when it comes to aligning the textures. At the moment, I have setup the main texture [*_t.bmp] along with a bump map [*_t_bump.bmp]. So far, the effects are working nicely. However, I still need to create an alpha channel for reflections as FSX seems to default to a FSX background image imposed onto the visual model that doesn't have reflections. Overall, rough edges still need to be worked out and the bump mapping still needs work.Jessy CorralesFSGV Founder
Finally, I have found a simple tutorial that shows me the exact steps towards exporting a visual model using the FSX SDK. This downloadable tutorial just so happens to be available at Lionheart Creations. You can download it directly through the following link:http://lionheartcreationsworld.com/FSX_Tutorial.zip So far, I managed to finish the base model for the Bugatti and now I'm working on adding the details. I'll keep you all posted as usual.Jessy CorralesFSGV Founder
